Products made in Hilton have international reach

One of the main responsibilities of county government is to work with local businesses to help them grow and expand. The Legislature, alongside County Executive Maggie Brooks, often coordinates efforts with the  County Planning Department to assist these companies in any way possible. As the representative of the Hilton and Greece communities, I recently had the opportunity to serve as part of a delegation from the county to welcome several new international business partners of locally-owned Monroe Fluid Technology.

Based right here in Hilton, Monroe Fluid has been a manufacturing supplier for the metalworking industry for the last 55 years. Specializing primarily in the lubricants used in factory machinery, Monroe Fluid provides products that are superior in performance while complying with all OSHA and EPA regulations. The company has been a consistent business partner of numerous manufacturing centers around the country, but recently, the company has set its sights on new markets worldwide.

Monroe Fluid’s first international venture began in 2012, when it started exporting products to Cresco Asia, a manufacturing firm in Thailand. This year, the Hilton company began supplying India-based APAR Industries with metalworking fluids that are produced right here at their facility on Draffin Road. This partnership began via email, phone and Skype®, but to take the partnership to the next level, Monroe Fluid President Alan Christodaro invited his Indian counterparts to visit Monroe County to meet in person and see the facility firsthand. In addition to the Indian executives, representatives from the Turkish firm DELIBAY Ltd. were visiting the plant, familiarizing themselves with Monroe Fluid and exploring the potential of a future relationship.

Due to its dedication in providing the best possible product, service and delivery, Monroe Fluid Technology is a business that continues to grow. As an elected official and a Monroe County resident, I am proud to see a local company thrive and expand internationally, especially considering the importance of today’s global economy.
