Brockport business owner helps those in need

With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the closure of bars and restaurants, Jimmy Zisovski, owner of Jimmy Z’s Plates and Shakes had to close his restaurant on Monday, March 16. On Tuesday, he was out on Main Street, Brockport, handing out rolls of toilet paper and take-home boxes of his famous macaroni salad. Jimmy secured a large number of rolls of toilet paper, something that’s been so hard to get during the pandemic. From noon until 5 p.m., Jimmy handed out free rolls of toilet paper to anyone who needed it along with a box of his Jimmy Z’s mac salad. “Everyone is taking a hit somehow from all of this. Whether it’s your dad you can’t visit in the nursing home or the job you can’t return to, we are all feeling this. We are just trying to help the community in any way we can,” Zisovski said.

After New York State required all restaurants and bars to stop dine-in services, Jimmy Z’s decided not to offer take out orders. “We felt it was best not to provide take out to reduce any risk of spreading the virus,” Zisovski said.
