Kiwanis hears presentation by St. Vincent DePaul Society member

The Kiwanis Club of Spencerport heard a presentation by Peter Schadd from the St. Vincent DePaul Society at a recent meeting.

The St. Vincent DePaul Society began 20 years ago and is a social ministry committee at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini. They work to improve the quality of life in the Rochester area and to provide basic household items to those who cannot afford them. They rely soley on donations from different individuals in the community and work on providing items such as beds, linens, household items, amongst other items.

They also run a store, similar to a thrift shop, which is open Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The store is located at St. Michael’s Hall behind 869 Clinton Avenue in the City of Rochester. The store has an ever-changing mix of interesting things including antiques, household items, collectibles and more, the sale of which goes to help individuals in the Rochester community.

Presenting a donation from the Kiwanis Club to Peter Schadd is Heide Reinschmidt.
