Come to Hilton Apple Fest for the music

InvinBeautiful crafts, fun children’s activities and apple treats as far as the eye can see are all great reasons to visit the Hilton Apple Fest, but if it’s music you really enjoy then you won’t be disappointed. This year’s Apple Fest features some of the area’s premier bands.

Performing on the Main Stage on Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. are the Invictas, one of America’s longest playing rock bands with three of the four original members rocking on stage. The band comes from the same era as The Rolling Stones, Beach Boys and ZZ Top, and their performances include some of the greatest rock ‘n roll songs ever created. The Invictas have played with groups like the Beach Boys, been featured on national TV and interviewed by iHeart Radio.

Also on Saturday, Geoff Clough and Cyndi Kingsley will be playing on the Gazebo Stage from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Geoff Clough has over 30 years of experience as a pianist, piano teacher, song writer and performer. Cyndi Kingsley is vocally trained at Hochstein School of Music. Both perform independently in senior communities, festivals and private parties throughout Western New York State and have joined their talents to bring their lively and memorable show to the Apple Fest.

Following them on the Gazebo Stage from 2 to 5 p.m. is Third Degree, Rochester’s blues/rock band. This four-member band has played just about every club and pub in the surrounding area and is famous for giving audiences the best in blues.

The Fairport band Mario and the Sundowners will take to the Main Stage on Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m. This four-member band plays classic rock ‘n roll from the 60s and later, including southern rock and covers/tributes.

Rochester’s original groove funk duo Dan & 9 will perform on Sunday at the Gazebo Stage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fans of Dave Matthews, Johnny Cash, The Black Keys and Jack Johnson will love hearing Dan Schuler on acoustic guitar/vocals and Nine Rizzo on drums/percussion. The duo also plays original tunes.

Closing out the Apple Fest from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Gazebo Stage is Two for the Road, a husband and wife duet that highlights great vocal harmonies complimented by acoustic guitar, percussion, and instrumental backing tracks. Dick and Doreen Johnson bring more than 30 combined years of musical performing experience, the last 10 as lead vocalists with the popular band Hothouse.

In addition to these headliners, the Apple Fest will feature many more performances by students, the popular Generations Band and Hilton Cadets Marching Band, and kids’ favorites like Gary The Happy Pirate, Empire Magic and the Amazing Magic Joe.
