Christmas on the Canal celebrates 19 years with December 7 event

With the continued generosity of the community, Elaine Spaziano says that Spencerport will celebrate its 19th annual Christmas on the Canal event on Sunday, December 7 from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Union Street in the village.

From 1:30 to 5 p.m. on Union Street look for Santa and Mrs. Claus, Horse Drawn Hayrides, a Living Nativity, Entertainment on the Bandstand, a free children’s craft tent, food and shopping. At 5 p.m., at the tolling of the church bells, everyone assembles at the Gazebo for the annual Tree Lighting followed by the one mile Candlelight Caroling led by horse and wagon.

Spaziano says the event has been supported by the community. Anyone who would like to donate to the effort to keep Christmas on the Canal alive, can send contributions to: Christmas on the Canal, P.O. Box 177, Spencerport, NY 14559. All funds received are used only for the COTC event and expenditures are decided upon by the committee and/or board, according to Spaziano.
