Celebrate the magic of the holidays with “Sounds of the Season”

This holiday season, the Brockport College-Community Chorus’ annual concert, Sounds of the Season, will be held at the Seymour College Union Ballroom on Sunday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $5 and will be sold at the door on the night of the concert. For more information, contact the Fine Arts Series Box Office at (585)395-2787.

The program for the evening, devised by the Chorus’ music director, Brian Clickner, will have its religious aspects, but also encompasses much of the pop music that has been created through the years. “My vision for the concert was that it would be like one of those wonderful television specials from the 1960s or 70s, when the family would gather to watch, and everyone – and I mean everyone – would walk away happy and satisfied,” says Clickner. Just as in days of yore, there are guests making special appearances throughout the evening, and – even though there will be no “bouncing ball,” made popular by Rochester’s own Mitch Miller – there will be a sing-along section of the concert.

Some of the selections that will be heard that evening include “Welcome Christmas,” “I Wonder as I Wander,” “White Christmas,” and “Silent Night.”

The Chorus will be accompanied by Mark DuPré. In addition, there will be a host of other musicians playing for various works through the evening, including Jonathan Allentoff on violin, Natalie Sarrazin on piano, and Mark Zale on cello.
