Tea at the Beach helps Petra Place

What has become an annual rite of spring, the Petra Place Counseling Center Tea at the Beach is set for Sunday, April 26 at the Robach Community Center at Ontario Beach Park,  from 2 to 5 p.m. The event features a high tea menu including freshly brewed teas and finger foods.

Guests will be inspired by a host of spirit-filled guest speakers who will share their personal stories about journeying towards improved mental health.  A number of young performers will provide entertainment, and vendors will be on hand to show off their wares. Raffles will round out the event.

This year’s tea is being planned by the many volunteers who give of their time to help the Petra Place cause, as well as interns from Roberts Wesleyan College who spend time at the counseling center as part of their college program.

Located at 888 Long Pond Road in Greece, Petra Place is a 503(c) non-profit agency which offers mental health services on a sliding scale for the uninsured, as well as provides community outreach as needs are identified. The center relies heavily on donations and support from the community to provide these services.

Donation for the tea is $30. Reservations can be made by calling Petra Place at 739-7777. Guests can leave a message and calls for reservations will be returned.

For information about Petra Place services and future fund-raisers, like the organization on Facebook or join their mailing list by calling the center.
