Chili Historical Society to update mission statement

The Chili Historical Society has been awarded a $4,600 grant by the Museum Association of New York to be used to update their mission statement and create a strategic plan which will itemize, prioritize and detail the procedures for the goals that will be set by the Board.

The CHS will hire consultant Sabrina Henneman to facilitate the new mission statement and write the strategic plan based on the decisions of the Board. Henneman was a Chili resident for over 29 years, which brings an understanding of the town, its demographics, and its history, but also worked for over 10 years in the collections department at Genesee Country Museum, according to a press release from the society. Her broad knowledge of museum operations will allow her to guide the Board in deciding the future of CHS, and she can advise as to professional museum practices as part of the strategic planning process. She is familiar with working with very small, volunteer based organizations and making professional standards/procedures easy to understand and follow.
