Discover the secrets of a dry-build stone wall

On Saturday, June 17, the Colby-Pulver House will be the site of a “dry stone build” class from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with Dan Pearl, a dry stone craftsman. Mr. Pearl worked with experts from England to earn his certification.

Boy Scouts from Troop 04, helping Donovan Berbenecuic earn his Eagle Scout badge, will complete the wall for the Historic Colby-Pulver House. The wall will serve as a backdrop for the Historic Daylily garden being planted this year in recognition of the Town of Ogden’s 200th birthday.

This class is open to community members as well as Boy Scouts; limited to 25 registrants. Register by calling 426-9047, leaving a name, number and message. Anyone is welcome to come out and observe throughout the day. Fee for the class is a donation of time to help Donovan’s group complete the wall, or money to help with the purchase of project supplies. Participants must be 14 years or older.

Those registered for the class should come prepared to participate; bring gloves and a lunch, and wear old clothes and sturdy shoes. Soft drinks, water, snacks and cookies will be provided.
