Credit Union expands service area

Spencerport Federal Credit Union announces that a request for an expansion of their community charter boundaries was recently approved by the National Credit Union Administration. The credit union is now able to serve people who live, work, worship, attend school or are active community volunteers in Monroe or Orleans Counties.

The total combined population of the counties is more than 791,000. In 2006, the credit union was granted a community charter which included seven towns within Monroe County.  The credit union was originally founded in 1962 to serve employees of the Spencerport School District

“We are excited about the future and being able to reach more people with our fantastic loan rates, great deposit products and exceptional member service,” said Nancy Bodhorn, manager of the Spencerport-based credit union.
