Union Congregational United Church of Christ has welcomed its new pastor.  The Reverend Shirley Louise Pudney-Eilers began her part-time ministry October 9.

Pastor Shirley is an ordained minister with full standing in the United Church of Christ.  She has her Masters of Divinity degree from the Colgate Rochester Divinity School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Michigan.

Pastor Shirley has a wealth of experience in ministry. She has served as pastor for Morganville and Brighton UCC churches, as well as for several American Baptist churches. She was Executive Director of Services for the Aging with United Ministries of Irondequoit, Executive Director of the Spiritual Center for Mental Health of the American Baptist Churches in the Genesee Region, and has worked in the fields of mental health, children’s programs and community needs assessment.

She accepted her call as Pastor to Union Church as she perceives a faith community strongly committed to programs to enliven and strengthen the community.

Feel free to stop by and say hello and welcome Pastor Shirley to Churchville.  She will usually be in the office on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; on Wednesdays from 1 to 5 p.m. and on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon.

All are welcome to attend Sunday morning worship service at 10 a.m. Each Sunday will offer a different message, relevant to everyday living, according to a press release.
