Tops launches annual Check Out Hunger campaign

Tops Friendly Markets is encouraging the community to support its annual Check Out Hunger campaign to benefit participating food banks beginning Sunday, January 28 and continuing through Saturday, February 17.  Since 2006, Tops has raised over $3 million for those who are food insecure.

A staggering one in eight individuals and one in five children are food insecure and do not know where their next meal will come from.  With the communities’ support, however, we can make a difference.  When shopping at Tops, simply tell your cashier you’d like to help Tops Check Out Hunger and give a donation of $2, $3, or $5 which will help provide food for your local food bank.

“At Tops we believe in eradicating hunger and assisting our fellow neighbors in need and so supporting this effort on an annual basis is something that we gladly stand behind,” said Frank Curci, Chairman of the Board, and Chief Executive Officer for Tops Friendly Markets.

Participating food banks that will benefit from this year’s Check Out Hunger Campaign include:

Food Bank of WNY

Foodlink

Food Bank of Southern Tier

Food Bank of North West Pennsylvania

Food Bank of North East Pennsylvania

Food Bank of Central Pennsylvania

Food Bank of CNY

Food Bank of the Hudson Valley

Vermont Food Bank

Food Bank of North East NY
