GPAS to present a Hollywood-themed Soiree in June

The Greece Performing Arts Society (GPAS) will be holding ‘Hooray for Hollywood,’ the second annual Summer Soiree, on June 2 at 5:30 p.m. at Davinci’s Italian Restaurant, 1558 West Ridge Road in Greece.

The Summer Soiree was added in 2017 to the GPAS’s yearly programs as part of the Next Chapter initiative. Under the leadership and vision of Board President Eric Vaughn Johnson, this new initiative focuses on branding, programming and community partnerships, as well as new events. According to Johnson, the annual Summer Soiree will become one of the GPAS’s signature events.

The ‘Hooray for Hollywood’ Summer Soiree will feature a full Italian buffet dinner from Davinci’s. The highlight of the evening will be professional and GPAS musical talent, including Courtney Weather, Jenna Owens, Hector Manuel and Hunter Ekberg, as well as selections from the Greece Jazz Band and Choral Society. On the line-up are familiar Hollywood movie hit tunes including: “We’re in the Money,” “New York, New York,” “I’ve Got Rhythm,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “The Trolley Song,” “Someone to Watch Over Me” and more.

Guests can enjoy a cash bar offering signature drinks and meet GPAS board members, performers, musical directors and other friends of GPAS. The event includes opportunities to enter a raffle and bid on Hollywood-themed gift baskets in a silent auction. Gift baskets include a George Eastman style-basket, a dinner and movie basket, a dinner and show basket, and more.

Tickets are $40 each and are available online at GreecePerformingArts.org and at all area Wegmans. For more information, email info@GreecePerformingArts.org or call 234-5636.
