Beat-the-Blahs with the Opera Guild of Rochester

The Opera Guild of Rochester presents its annual “Beat-the-Blahs” Haskell Rosenberg Memorial Series each Sunday in January. During the depths of the winter, opera lovers assemble to watch a DVD of an opera with refreshments at intermission and a brief pre-show talk.

This year’s series features Gounod’s “Mireille” on January 6; Mark Adamo’s “Little Women” on January 13; Richard Strauss’s “Arabella” on January 20 and Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Golden Cockerel” on January 27.

The series is held at the Temple B’rith Kodesh Social Hall (entrance in rear) located at 2131 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, beginning at 1 p.m.

A suggested donation for all four viewings is $32 for Guild donors ($36 for non-donors). Suggested donations for individual operas are $9 for donors and $10 for non-donors. Temple members may attend for free.
