Boy Scouts Lighthouse District 2019 Klondike Derby

The Boy Scouts of America Lighthouse District 2019 Klondike Derby was hosted by Troop 240 of Greece and held at the Parma VFW on January 25 and 26. There were 84 youths and 33 adults from 11 troops and two Webelos 2 dens who participated in the Saturday events. Six troops braved the elements and camped overnight. The event offered camping, competitions which included Fire Building, First Aid (Hurry Cases), First Aid (Carries), Map and Compass, Height and Distance, Ice Rescue, Team Snowshoeing, Emergency Shelter, Sled Inspection, Knots, Lashings, Plant Identification, the Great Sled Race and fun for area troops.
