Digital Bookmobile rolls in to Brockport and Greece

Traveling coast to coast, the Digital Bookmobile National Tour will make stops at the Brockport Arts Festival, August 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and at the Greece Public Library, August 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and August 14 from noon to 7 p.m. Community members are invited to this interactive exhibit to learn about and try ebooks, audiobooks, magazines and more available from area libraries including the Seymour Library and the Greece Public Library. Events are free and open to readers of all ages.

Library staff and eReading experts will be available on the Digital Bookmobile to guide visitors through the easy process of borrowing digital books. Readers with a valid library card can borrow their favorite titles 24/7 by visiting https://libraryweb.overdrive.com or by downloading the library’s one-tap reading app, Libby, powered by OverDrive.

Readers at all levels of comfort and familiarity with ebooks are welcome at the Digital Bookmobile events. Staff will facilitate one-on-one tutorials to help visitors borrow and read or listen to ebooks and audiobooks. Equipped with interactive workstations, touchscreen activities, devices to sample titles and more, the Digital Bookmobile has everything a reader needs to get started. Popular devices, including iPhone®, iPad®, Android phones and tablets, Chromebook and Kindle®, fill the Gadget Gallery for visitors to browse their library’s digital service.

Visitors can learn how to enhance their reading experience with tips and tricks from the experts, including how to sort and filter searches, create notes and highlights, manage holds, tag titles, and much more. Library card holders can take advantage of the featured services to borrow ebooks and audiobooks for free, 24/7 with no late fees on the library’s website or by using the Libby app to read or listen instantly from virtually any smartphone, tablet or computer.

The Digital Bookmobile is powered by OverDrive, the digital reading platform for more than 43,000 libraries and schools worldwide.
