Women gather for Spiritual Spa Day

On Saturday, October 19, a brisk autumn morning, 50 women of faith gathered at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (SEAS) in Hamlin for Spiritual Spa Day 2019. The theme for the day was Compassion: One Wish For The World. Through a variety of activities, participants read, thought about, discussed, and wrote about compassion in today’s world – what it is, who needs it, and how we cultivate and teach it.

Throughout the day people personalized brightly colored paper leaves on which they wrote people, places, organizations, and others in need of compassion. By the end of the event, several hundred leaves had been tied to the tree, which will remain in the sanctuary for others to add to until Thanksgiving.

A dedicated and energetic group of women from SEAS hosted the day-long retreat and volunteered to lead each of the day’s activities.

Participants also donated 160 pounds of food and dry goods for Life Solutions Food Pantry in Hamlin and donated $150 to Willow Center for Domestic Violence.
