2013 Hilton Apple Fest logo chosen

Sweatshirts and other items will bear the logo for the 2013 Hilton Apple Fest.A logo design submitted by Hilton native Brian Dettman has been chosen as the winner of the 2013 Hilton Apple Fest Logo Contest.

Encouraged by his wife, Reeni, Dettman decided to enter the contest, which seeks out a unique new logo for the Apple Fest each year. It’s a tradition he is happy to become a part of. “We always look forward to the Hilton Apple Fest and I’m very proud to be a contributor to the 2013 event,” he says.

The logo Brian designed will adorn everything from hand spun ceramic coffee mugs, to baseball caps, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies. Better yet, all festival sourvenirs are produced by local western New York artisans, benefiting the local economy, according to Apple Fest Committee members.

Dettman, who grew up and graduated in Hilton, now lives in Greece with his wife and their two dogs, Madoc and Riley. They also have twin sons, Jason and Josh, who also live in Greece with their wives.

Dettman enjoys drawing, painting, photography, and custom picture framing, and has built a career as a graphic artist. He studied Fine Art at Georgia State University in Atlanta and spent 27 years in the publishing industry before going in to business with his brother, Robin. Together they run Jerry Williams Creative Arts & Framing, in Greece.

As a sign of appreciation, the Hilton Apple Fest Board of Directors presented Dettman with a $100 check and a sweatshirt embroidered with the winning logo. The 33rd annual festival will take place Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 6 from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Visit www.hiltonapplefest.org for other information.
