Public thank you from the 14th Annual “Day of Remembrance”

On Friday, September 11, the Brockport Volunteer Firefighter’s Association Inc. held their 14th Annual “Day of Remembrance” or  Vigil at Station #4 on South Main Street, Brockport. The program opened with a service at 8:30 a.m. which closed with the ringing of the House Bell at 8:47 a.m. Representatives of the fire service, law enforcement, EMS and the Armed Services were present at the monument throughout the day. The closing began at 6:30 p.m. with the Circle of Gold, which remained on the monument throughout the closing.

Past Chief Lawrence Vaughan and Past Chief John Rombaut coordinated the day’s events with the help of many active and support members of the Brockport Volunteer Firefighter’s Association. They would like to thank the support of the Fire Commissioners, the many neighboring department members that spent all or part of the day at the site and everyone from the community that came to the opening or closing.

The committee wants to thank the following for their wonderful support by providing food throughout the day: Wegmans, Walmart, Barton’s Hots, Salvatore’s, Mark’s Pizzeria, Domino’s, Kirby’s, Brightly’s and Partykas. The event also had the support of Thelma Rombaut, Barbara Vaughan and the granddaughter of past member David Clark, with their donation of desserts.
