Coast Guard Auxiliary presents state approved Boating Safety courses

With the boating season rapidly approaching, The Hamlin Beach Flotilla of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will present About Boating Safety, a U.S. Coast Guard and New York State approved boating safety course at the following places, dates and times:
•Gates Community Center, 1605 Buffalo Road, Rochester starting Tuesday, April 26. The course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and ends Thursday, May 5. The fee for this offering costs $31 for Gates residents and $41 for non-residents.
•Oak Orchard Yacht Club, 1103 Archibald Road, Waterport starting Saturday, April 30. The course meets Saturdays at 1 p.m. and ends May 7. The fee for this offering costs $30.

The course fee must be paid on the first day of class and includes books and materials.

Participants will learn about boating law, boat safety equipment, safe boating practices, navigation, boating problems, trailering, storing and protecting their boats, as well as safe hunting and fishing practices, water-skiing and river boating techniques.

Upon succesful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate and wallet card (for presentation to Coast Guard or marine law enforcement personnel when necessary).
