Adult Summer Programs at the Parma Public Library

The 2018 Adult Summer Reading Contest at the Parma Public Library is in full swing. Read fiction or non-fiction on any device or listen to your favorite author in audio format between June 1 and August 31, 2018 and fill out a reading ticket for each book read. All tickets will be entered in weekly prize drawings for a year’s worth of “Free Holds” to be picked up at the Parma Public Library. Also, for every four completed tickets, the reader will earn a chance for the Grand Prize Drawing of a $50 Amazon gift card. The reader who reads the most books also wins a $50 Amazon gift card, and the person who reads the second highest total will take home a $40 gift card for Amazon. Bonus entry tickets can be earned by reading and attending the discussion for the July or August “Adult Book Discussion” books.

Year-round programs for adults take place at the Parma Public Library and this summer’s schedule includes: Book Discussions at 2 p.m. on the second Wednesday in July and August. The group will discuss My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman on July 11 and Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng on August 8. A non-fiction discussion will take place on Tuesday, July 17 at 7 p.m. when Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates by Brian Kilmeade will be the topic. Movie Madness will happen on Thursday, July 19 at 1 p.m. with the showing of Black Panther. On August 16, The Shape of Water will be shown. “A Passion for Paint,” a free, no experience or supplies needed painting program for adults will meet on Fridays, July 20 and August 17.
