Make a Difference Day in Hilton – October 27

For the eleventh year, the Hilton School District has joined forces with the Village of Hilton and Town of Parma to participate in Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 27. Teams of students, staff, teachers and community members come together to make the community a better place by rolling up their sleeves and pitching in on a variety of projects throughout the area.

Students and community members will gather at Hilton High School cafeteria, 400 East Avenue, Hilton, then head to their work sites throughout the village and town from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Among this year’s projects are:

•“Stuff a Bus” Food Drive at Tops Plaza, South Avenue, Hilton.

•American Red Cross Blood Drive sponsored by the Village of Hilton at Hilton High School.

•New and Gently Used Coat, Hat & Mitten Drive sponsored by Hilton High School Model U.N. and Hilton Cares at Hilton High School.

•New Sock Collection at Parma Public Library and St. Leo’s Church, Lake Avenue.

•Community Garden, St. George’s Episcopal Church, 635 Old Wilder Road.

•Visiting/crafts at Hilton East Assisted Living, 231 East Avenue by Hilton High School Student Council.

•Carnations for Patients, Hilton High School – Quest Elementary School students.

•Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling at Hilton High School Parking Lot sponsored by Wegmans.

•Yard Clean Up, Cambridge Road, Hilton by Lions Club.

•Hilton Fire Department will be holding an open house from 12 to 3 p.m.; Hilton Parma Recreation will be holding its Halloween parade and celebration (10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m) at Hilton Community Center, 59 Henry Street.
