John Lyons

•Lyons, John (Pink), Brockport: On February 23, 2016 at age 86. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris; daughter, Karen Hann (Roger) of Kane, Pa; and Son, Bob Lyons (Jennifer) of Penfield, NY and grandchildren, Evan and Will Lyons.

Pink, as he was known to most, started life in Thornwood, NY, the son of Will and Gladys Lyons and brother of Bill. Fishing and hunting was his way of life in youth and continued throughout his long life. He graduated from Pleasantville High School and eventually joined the Navy where he became a Seabee (member of the Construction Battalion) during the Korean conflict. When his tour ended, Pink became a police officer for the Town of Mount Pleasant Police Department and eventually achieved the rank of sergeant, retiring in 1981. At 51, he chose a second career and did what he loved best….he was a skilled and accomplished carpenter, he could build it all.

Fully retiring in Brockport he stayed busy (he could never just sit and relax!) enjoying many home improvement projects, fishing, gardening, watching the NY Giants and enjoying his grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to meet the family Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 2-4 pm at Fowler Funeral Home at 340 West Avenue in Brockport. A private service for family and close friends will follow.
