Eleanor “Grace” (Reed) Sibbald

Chili: Monday, May 23, 2016, at age 84. “Amazing Grace” is predeceased by parents, Gertrude and Howard Reed; brother, Howard and great-grandson, Joseph A. Steimer IV. She is lovingly remembered by her children, John (Debra) Sibbald, Jr. and Janice (Joseph) Steimer; grandchildren, Joshua Sibbald, Jeremy (Holly) Sibbald, Jennifer Steimer (Karl), Joseph (Stephanie) Steimer III; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Lilly Kate, Jack, Ryder and Adelaide; brothers, Gary Reed, David (Kathy) Reed; sisters, Lou Hutton, Penny Farr; close relatives, Arlene Sibbald and Jeanne Smith; many cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends, Arlene Geismann, Lelia Miner, Evelyn Piper and Lynn Willard.

Grace graduated from Monroe High School and went on to Brockport College, where she became the 1st female editor of the College Newspaper, The Stylus, in 1950. After graduation she became an Elementary School Teacher, Teaching for the City of Rochester, The Hillel School and Gates Chili School District for over 30 years. Grace was an active member in the Ladies Auxiliary for the Chili Fire Dept. for over 50 years, having served as President during their time. Grace was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Monroe County Volunteer Firemen’s Association, also serving there in the office of President.

Friends may call at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, Tuesday, 4-7. Funeral Service Wednesday 10AM at the Funeral Home. Private Interment Grove Place Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Chili Fire Dept. Auxiliary, the Alzheimer’s Association or Rochester Presbyterian Home. The family of Grace wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff at the Rochester Presbyterian Home over the last 5 years for the support and loving care they have provided.
