Rochester – Edgar Carl Nelson, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on January 17, 2020. Ed was born January 31, 1942 in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late Edgar Nelson, Sr. (Virginia) and Pearl Jabbia (Joseph).
He served in the Marine Corps from 1960-1964. He was an avid Kiwanis member where he enjoyed his favorite event of the annual fishing derby in Greece, NY. He loved to travel, especially to Louisiana to visit siblings; Peter (Linda) Jabbia, Josephine Delcambre, Joanne (Jean) DuBois, Evelyn Jabbia and extended family. Ed is survived by wife Karen; his son, Brian (Aimee) Nelson; step-children: Donald Mager, Theodore (Diane) Mager, and Julie (Clinton) Stratton; grandchildren: Chloe and Lola Nelson, Joseph, Maria, Matthew, and Madison Mager, and Grace and Olivia Stratton.
A private memorial will be held. Donations can be sent to the LIfetime Home Health Care and Hospice of Greece, NY as well as the Kiwanis Club of Greece, NY.
