Spencerport Board of Education adopts 2014-15 budget proposal

During its meeting on April 8, the Spencerport School Board of Education adopted a 2014-15 budget proposal, which totals $73 million and projects a 0.79% tax rate increase.

According to a press release, the expenditure plan, which will be presented to voters on Tuesday, May 20, includes a:

•projected tax rate of $24.58 per $1,000 of assessed home value, an increase of $0.19 per $1,000. (The Board of Education sets the actual tax rate in August).

•Tax levy of $34.8 million, an increase of 1.36%, which is less than the maximum allowable tax levy with exclusions of 1.4%
