Moving Up ceremony celebrates Byron-Bergen Class of 2020

On June 25, Byron-Bergen Elementary School Principal Brian Meister bid farewell to his sixth-graders in a memorable rite of passage – the Moving Up ceremony. The event, held in front of a capacity crowd at the Jr./Sr. High School Auditorium, celebrated the academic achievement of the close-to 100-member Class of 2020.

He reminded the students of how much they had grown; how ready they are to enter Jr. High School and excel there. He thanked their teachers – Brooke Baker, Elizabeth Findlay, Robert Hopkins, Nicole Utz, Chris Dobson and Megan Wahl – and acknowledged the invaluable support and impact their parents have made on their school success. He also recognized Assistant Principal Amanda Cook and thanked STEP Boosters for their support all year, and for providing the reception. The students were then welcomed by Jr./Sr. High School Principal Aaron Johnson, who promised them new experiences and learning adventures beginning this fall.
After students filed onstage to pick up their Moving Up certificates and t-shirts, the ceremony concluded with a nostalgic, sometimes-humorous, video look-back at their last year in Elementary School.
