Annual C-C event turns five, adds Health and Wellness Fair

Churchville-Chili Central School District’s popular community outreach program, Celebrate Churchville-Chili, is scheduled to be held on September 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

This year’s event, the fifth-annual Celebrate Churchville-Chili, will include fun and information for the entire family. “Celebrate is all about giving back to our community,” says Churchville-Chili Director of Continuing Education and event coordinator Wendy Reese. “It’s the first chance in the new school year for us to invite our parents and students to meet and connect with teachers and staff in an informal, social atmosphere. It’s our chance to say thank-you for the year-round support we get from everyone in our district.”

The event features over 20 informational display tables, staffed by district school principals and counselors, along with program directors from Fine Arts, Athletics, Curriculum and Instruction, Nutrition and others. Parents will learn about CCCSD’s ongoing Capital Projects and the Parent Portal, while children will enjoy games, face painting, a demonstration of robotics, and the annual Ping Pong Drop. Volunteers from C-C athletic teams will be on hand to add to the fun and excitement. The event is sponsored by local businesses and organizations who have donated prizes which will be raffled off during the event as well as supplied monetary donations making the event possible.

A new addition to this year’s Celebrate is the Health and Wellness Fair, where attendees can get tips and information on healthy eating, exercise, physical therapy, local flu clinics and cold prevention and Child ID.

The event will be held outside, in the parking lot behind the Administration Office, and in the Middle School cafeteria, where pizza and snacks will be available. “We invite everyone in our community to come on down to see what’s happening in the district, and enjoy a fantastic day,” says Superintendent of Schools, Lori Orologio.
