C-C artists participate in Rochester-Finger Lakes Art Exhibition

Five outstanding student artists from the Churchville-Chili schools have been chosen to show work in the 2015 Rochester-Finger Lakes Middle & High School Art Exhibition, hosted by RIT at the Bevier Gallery.

The invitational exhibition opens on January 30 and runs through February 23. The artists and their featured work are: Taylor Conrad: Sculpture – “Cubi”; Abby Gutkowski: Photography – “Transcendence”; Emily Odell: Photography – “Stone Soldier”; Lynn Sidor: Watercolor reduction painting – “Jack”; Lainy Zigler: Monoprint – “Empty Soul”.

The exhibit offers new talent an opportunity to show their artwork in a professional venue, the nationally-acclaimed Bevier Gallery at RIT. Local teachers are each invited to submit the work of two exceptional young artists to the show. Gutkowski and Odell were nominated by Churchville-Chili High School teacher Jane Betrus; Conrad by teacher Jonathan Woodard; and Sidor and Zigler by teacher Colleen L’Hommedieu.
