Brockport students make fighting cancer a fashionable cause

Fashion Passion: Catwalk for a Cure, the Third Annual Brockport High School Fashion Show, will be held on Saturday, March 14 in the Brockport High School Auditorium. The event kicks off with a silent auction in the foyer at 2 p.m., and the fashion show beings at 3 p.m. The show, hosted by Seamus Flynn with music by The Flipside, features prom wear for both guys and girls as well as informal spring fashions from Smarty Pants and BeBe Mills  Boutique. The Brockport National Honor Society members are pledging this year’s proceeds from the show and auction to the American Cancer Society.

The Fashion Show began two years ago when high school junior, Taylor Mateo, was battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The following year, Taylor, now in remission, served as the public relations coordinator for the event.

Tickets are $5 in advance, and $7 at the door. Pre-sale tickets are available at The Blushing Bride and BeBe Mills Boutique. Students may also purchase tickets at the cafeteria during lunch.
