Brockport CSD designated a NAMM 2015 Best Community for Music Education

Brockport Central Schools’ annual Music in Our Schools Month, a spectacular schedule of musical events at every age level throughout March, was capped off with an exciting national honor. The district was named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation. Only 388 school districts in 46 states were chosen for this designation in 2015, which is given to acknowledge outstanding efforts by students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community leaders who have made music education part of the core curriculum.

Music in Our Schools month included an All-District Strings Concert, a high school/grade 7-8 Choir Concert, and a wide variety of performances in all of our schools. Brockport student musicians of all ages participated in the Monroe County School Music Association’s 2015 All-County Festivals. Students are chosen for All-County groups based on competitive solo performances given in January.
