On October 7, Spencerport High School juniors and seniors who are volunteering in the CHOICES program, attended their first training session with the Monroe County Youth Bureau. The training took place at the Monroe Community Hospital in Henrietta.

The students spent the day learning team-building activities and covered a variety of topics that they will present as peer leaders at Cosgrove Middle School. The CHOICES Program is designed to have high school students serve as peer mentors for the eighth graders and to help them understand the important choices they have to make as freshmen.

The program is in its second year with Spencerport partnering with the Monroe County Department of Human Services and Monroe County Youth Bureau.
