Holley Hawks soar through homecoming week

At Holley Middle School/High School, special events took place in the week leading up to Homecoming. Each day, students dressed in class colors or in themed clothing. The Spirit Week themes included Class Color Day, Occupation Day, Holiday/Season Day, Hawaiian Day and School Spirit Day.

On Friday, October 7, there was a pep rally in the gym, with the classes competing against each other in a hula hoop relay and dizzy bat race.

On Friday evening, students participated in the annual Homecoming parade and float competition. Floats designed by students in grades 7 through 12 were featured, showcasing a biome theme, and the PTSA judged the competition and awarded prizes. The seniors won the float competition with their rain forest float.

On Saturday, October 8, student athletes took the stage, competing against Attica in boys and girls soccer games and Notre Dame in football. The Holley Varsity Boys’ Soccer team beat Attica 3-0 at the Woodlands, but the Varsity Girls’ Soccer team tied Attica, 0-0, in double overtime. The Varsity Football team beat Notre Dame, 3-0, scoring the game-winning field goal in overtime.
