Spencerport musicians selected to all state

Three Spencerport High School musicians have been selected to the New York State School Music Association’s All State Ensembles.

Senior Grace Mingoea was selected to the All State Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Grace is a member of the Spencerport Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Treble Choir and Concert Choir.

Senior Jared White was also selected to the All State Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and as an alternate for the All State Mixed Choir. Jared is a member of the Spencerport Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Concert Choir, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble.

Senior Faith Strohm was selected to the All State Women’s Choir, marking her second year as a member of an All State vocal ensemble. Faith is a member of the Spencerport Concert Choir, Treble Choir, Vocal Jazz and Wind Ensemble.

Thousands of students auditioned for this honor last spring at solo and ensemble festivals throughout the State. The students will perform as part of the All State Ensemble during the New York State School Music Association Winter Conference, which will be held in Rochester.

The All State Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform on December 3, at 3 p.m. in Kilbourn Hall and the All State Women’s Choir will perform on December 3, at 8 p.m. in Eastman Theatre.
