The Greater Churchville-Riga Chamber of Commerce has announced that it will once again award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior residing in the Town of Riga who plans to continue his or her education beyond high school with a primary focus in business.
Candidates will be judged on financial need, scholastic achievement, character, leadership and motivation.
Requirements include: the student must reside in the Town of Riga; they must have been accepted into a school of higher education with a primary focus in business; they must submit the application cover page, letter of application and a copy of their transcript through January 31, 2017 on or before the application deadline; if requested, they must participate in an interview with the Greater Churchville-Riga Chamber of Commerce scholarship committee.
The scholarship will be paid upon evidence of satisfactory completion of the first semester’s work with a cumulative grade point average of 2.4 or better at a school of higher education beyond high school, with the assurance of registration for a second semester.
The deadline for application is Friday, April 28, 2017. Applications may be mailed to the Greater Churchville-Riga Chamber of Commerce at P.O. Box 362, Churchville, NY 14428.
