Brockport CSD capital improvement project vote rescheduled

The Brockport Central School District Proposed Capital Improvement Project Vote has been rescheduled for May 16. The decision was made during the Brockport CSD Board of Education meeting on March 21. The vote, originally scheduled for March 15, was postponed due to severe weather conditions resulting in the cancellation of school. The new date is the same day as the proposed budget vote and board candidate election. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Technology and Training Center on May 16.

About the proposed capital improvement project: The proposed $19,873,000 capital improvement project focuses primarily on safety and security, including the addition and/or modification of secure vestibules and main entryway renovations in each school. It also includes improvements to buildings, parking lots and athletic spaces, as well as equipment upgrades to reduce energy usage.

Utilization of New York State building aid and the Capital Reserve Fund will allow the project to be completed with no additional impact to local taxes.
