Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) seeks middle and high school students

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is accepting applications for the 2017-18 class held at The University of Rochester. YEA! is a 30-week program that guides middle and high school students through launching and running their own real businesses or social movements.

YEA! is open to all students in grades 6 through 12. While in the Academy, students will receive all the necessary tools to launch their very own real, legal businesses. This includes access to valuable experts like attorneys, accountants, business mentors, and graphic designers; plus an audience with investors for real start-up cash. Students will also have the opportunity to win college scholarships.

YEA! classes kick off in October and end in May.  Classes meet Tuesdays at the University of Rochester’s Simon School from 4 to 7 p.m.

The YEA! application is available online at yeausa.org and must be submitted by September 15. The selection process is competitive and applicants are urged to apply early. The $20 application fee is waived if students apply by June 1 (promo code: EARLY 18).

Scholarships are available for students who meet eligibility requirements. Contact Christie Lawrence at 272-3535 for details.
