Voters approve Churchville-Chili Capital Project

Residents of the Churchville-Chili Central School approved the Elementary Schools’ Renovations & Playgrounds Capital Project during a referendum vote December 11. A total of 406 votes were cast, 322 yes votes to 84 no votes. The $3,952,400 project will be funded through State Aid and the Capital Reserve Fund with no additional impact to the local tax share.

The primary areas of focus for this project are as follows:

At Chestnut Ridge Elementary School:

•Masonry Re-pointing

•Boiler Room Egress Stair

•Library Lockers and Wall Finishes

•Basement Water Infiltration

•New Playground

At Churchville Elementary School:

•Exterior Door and Gymnasium Door

•Water Infiltration at Electric Room

•Public Address System with Abatement Allowance

•Library Corridor Locker Replacement

•First Floor Boiler Room Corridor Renovations

•Kitchen Modifications, Upgrades and Equipment

•New Playground

At Fairbanks Road Elementary School:

•Stair Treads

•Gymnasium and Bathroom Doors

•New playground

Superintendent of Schools Lori Orologio says she appreciates the community’s support of the project. “This project allows us to focus on areas of need at each elementary school as well as new playgrounds that we are unable to address through our regular operating budget. I want to thank the voters for their continued support of our students.”
