The Brockport Central School District Board of Education appointed Rebecca Tibbitts as probationary assistant principal at A.D. Oliver Middle School, effective January 2, 2019. Tibbitts succeeds Matthew Schultz, who was appointed transportation director, and will work with the seventh-grade cohort, Team Alpha and Team Nu.

Tibbitts most recently served as the primary administrative substitute at Joseph C. Wilson High School. She was also an instructional coach at Joseph C. Wilson High School and Northwest Junior High/Northeast Senior High. Prior to that she taught English for 12 years at Wilson Foundation Academy.

“We are excited to welcome Rebecca Tibbitts to our administrative team at Oliver Middle School,” said Principal Melody Martinez-Davis. “Her experience, enthusiasm and commitment to students will benefit students, staff and families. We look forward to collaborating with her on current school initiatives and incorporating her expertise into our future strategies.”

Tibbitts earned a master’s degree in inclusion from Nazareth College and a bachelor of arts in English from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She holds certifications in school building and district leadership and secondary English.
