The truth about vaping … What you should know

Hilton Central School District, in partnership with HPDICE (Hilton Parma Drug Intervention & Community Education) will be sponsoring a community event on the facts of youth vaping on Tuesday, February 5 at Hilton High School, 400 East Avenue, Hilton.

Guest speakers Dr. Michael Mendoza, Monroe County Commissioner of Public Health, and Alexandra Popovici, Community Engagement Manager for the Smoking & Health Action Coalition, will present from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. with a question and answer session following.

Beginning at 6:15 p.m., local agencies will be on hand to provide information on mental health, substance abuse and community resources.

Adults can register in advance to participate in “Hidden in Plain Sight” from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. Parents will walk through a simulated teen bedroom to search for signs of drug/alcohol use. Professionals will guide participants through what to look for and strategies for talking with your children. Adults only. Students are not permitted to participate. Limited to 25 participants.
