SCRA awards scholarships to Spencerport graduates

Spencerport Central Retirees Association (SCRA) has awarded scholarships to five 2019 Spencerport High School graduating seniors. SCRA is an organization made up of all those retired from the school district working in any capacity. This year’s awards totaled $9,355. 

Karina Myshinskiy is the winner of a $1,600  SCRA Scholarship. She will attend Roberts Wesleyan College where she will be part of the Physician Assistant Program.

Bronson Slattery is also the recipient of a SCRA $1,600 scholarship. Bronson will be attending Honors College at Georgia Sate University where he will major in Actuarial Science.

The winner of the $2,625 scholarship in memory of former Spencerport teacher Deanne Renckens is Sara Bonfiglio. Sara will attend Georgetown University and major in pre-law.

A scholarship in the amount of $2,530 was awarded to Alyssa Libonati. This scholarship is in memory of Mary Ingersoll, a former teacher in the district and founder and leader in the gifted program. Ingersoll also initiated Spencerport’s participation in what is now Odyssey of the Mind. Alyssa, the scholarship winner, will attend Binghamton University and major in medicine.

The fifth scholarship in memory of former district superintendent Joe Clement in the amount of $1,000 is awarded to Victoria Caton. She will be attending Westmont College in Santa Barbara County, California majoring in English.
