Northwood classes make holidays warm & cozy for hospitalized children

For the past six years, Lauren Steinbach has been organizing a blanket-making project for her class and any other classes that want to participate at Northwood Elementary School in Hilton. This year, four classes created 24 brightly-colored fleece blankets to give to the patients at Golisano Children’s Hospital this holiday season. Steinbach’s and Sandra Castiglia’s fourth grade classes, and Meg Nothnagle’s and Tricia Clasgens’ second grade classes worked together in teams to make the blankets on December 17. Fleece in a wide array of patterns was purchased in advance thanks to parent donations. Students also made cards to give to the patients along with the blankets.
