College winter sports honors recognized

•Jerame Owens (Spencerport) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference All-Conference First Team and Defensive Player of the Year playing for Hilbert College.  Owens averaged 16 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, was second in the league in field goal percentage and led the conference in steals. He collected 11 double-doubles and twice eclipsed the 20-rebounds mark. Owens also earned a spot on the 2016 AMCC Championship All-Tournament team on his final day of competition.
•Jordan Ott (Hilton) was named Honorable Mention All-ECAC West in women’s hockey – the third straight year the junior has been honored. Ott led the Bears in scoring with 15 goals and 11 assists giving her 47 career goals, the most in program history. She also has the third most assists all-time with 37 and is ranked third for the Bears in career scoring with 84 points.
•Holley grad Heather Farrell swam the B finals of the 200 back for Genesee Community College at the National Championships and finished fifth in the heat, 13th overall, with an end time of 2:31.75.
•Byron-Bergen’s Sarah Donovan was named to the Mid-Atlantic Conference Sportsmanship Team while running cross country for Lycoming. She led the team in all but one race and ran the Highlander Invitational in 25:38.62 – the fourth-fastest time in program history on a 6K course.
•2003 Holley graduate and three year varsity wrestler Matt Paeth completed his first year as Assistant coach with the inaugural season of wrestling at Kansas Wesleyan.
•Roberts Wesleyan senior forward Samantha Courtney was named to the 2015-16 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Women’s Basketball All-East Region Second Team and All-East Coast Conference First Team and Defensive Player of the Year after she averaged a double-double this past season. On the year, Courtney is averaging 16.1 points and 11.2 rebounds per game while having blocked 85 shots through 33 games. Earlier in the season she scored her 1,000th career point, becoming the 13th player in program history to reach the milestone.
•College at Brockport junior Clifton Lylerly was named First Team All-SUNYAC after he was third in the conference in scoring with 16.7 points per game. Teammate Devonn Gavin was a Third Team choice averaging 11.6 ppg in half the playing time.
•College at Brockport senior forward Olivia Suhr was named Second Team All-SUNYAC after she finished third in the conference in points per game (16.3), rebounding (9.2) and blocks. Freshman guard Hannah Spencer and junior guard Faith Welch were Third Team selections.
•Golden Eagles senior defenseman Chad Cummings was named SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-SUNYAC and Tim Kielich Rookie of the Year after he scored eight goals and had 11 assists in 16 conference games. Leading scorer Chase Nieuwendyk was named First team All-SUNYAC at forward while senior defenseman Chris Luker was a Third Team pick.
•The College at Brockport sent two divers to the NCAA Division III National Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina. Meghan Kilgallon represented the women after scoring 402.70 in the 1-meter dive and 439.55 in the 3-meter dive at the SUNYAC meet. She placed third on the 1-meter and sixth on the 3-meter in Region 4. For the men, Gabriel Arias qualified after he totaled 517.65 points in the 3-meter dive at the conference championships, while also scoring 473.90 in the 1-meter. He finished fifth on the 1-meter and 3-meter dives at the regional meet.
