Brockport Lady’s Lacrosse gathers community to benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation

Brockport Girls Lacrosse, Brockport High School and the Brockport Community plan to come together on Thursday, April 28 at the Dahn Walwrath Stadium for a full night of lacrosse games and many other activities to raise money to benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

Families, friends and community come together for so much more than the great sport of lacrosse. Many other activities will take place to raise money to benefit St. Baldrick’s and to beat childhood cancer. For instance, Brockport High School students and teachers have volunteered to become the “winner” – the one raising the most money will go bald midfield at half time of the Varsity lacrosse game. Starting 10 days prior to the event, peers will vote by donating spare change to see their favorite teacher or student.

Mike LaMonica, a St. Baldrick’s representative and speaker at the event to share the St. Baldrick’s mission, has dedicated at least six years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation – helping kids with cancer throughout all the land. Mr. LaMonica states, “it’s amazing what Brockport Girls’ Lacrosse is putting together. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.”

Brockport Girl’s Modified, JV & Varsity Lacrosse teams will all play one game after another at home at Brockport High School’s Dahn Walwrath Stadium. Each team welcomes the Greece Arcadia/Olympia Girls Lacrosse teams.

Gates open at 3:30 p.m. Modified lacrosse game begins at 4 p.m., followed by the JV game at 5:30 p.m. and then the Varsity game at 7 p.m.

“This was an idea I had that I never thought would grow this big. It’s going to be amazing,” states Brockport Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach Joseph Simboli. “I am so proud to be a part of such a great group of girls, families and the Brockport Community.”

Bring family, friends and neighbors for dinner, dessert and coffee via a series of food trucks on site – Tony’s Tuscan Woodfired Pizza, Macarollin’, The Meatball Truck and J&S Fried Dough.
