Rangers, Cadets win first tennis matches

After each team started the season with a pair of losses, Spencerport and Hilton rebounded to earn their first girls’ tennis victories of the young season.

Spencerport swept all three doubles matches and the top three singles to defeat Greece Arcadia/Olympia 6-1.

First doubles Jenna Coffey and Jessica Hockinberger rebounded from a second set loss in the 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 win while the second doubles duo of Kayla Campbell and Taylor DiPilato won 7-5, 6-1.

Third doubles Isabelle Haddad and Khanhlinh Huynh had little trouble in a 6-1, 6-3 win in straight sets.

The Rangers top singles player, Taylor Maier won 6-0, 6-2 while second singles Hannah Nguyen and third singles Karli Holtz took their matches 6-1, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-2 respectively.

For Hilton it was their top players who came through in their 4-3 win.
Number one singles Britney Bostley lost her first set, but turned around her match in a hurry in a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 win.

Second singles Katie Singleton won 6-3, 7-6 and thirds singles Jennifer Solow easily won 6-2, 6-1.

First doubles Payton Cook and Reilly Mullen clinched the win with a 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 comeback win.
