Four local women qualify for national swim competition

Four members of the Hilton Area Swim Team (HAST) qualified and competed at the 2019 Eastern Zone Speedo Sectionals at Ithaca College – a national-level competition, March 28 through 31. The swimmers are KhaVy Sangasy (17) and KhaNy Sangasy (13) of Brockport, and Elizabeth Kidder (16) and Alayna Miller (14) of Hilton.

All four swimmers qualified and competed in the 200 freestyle relay and achieved a team best time of 1 minute 42 seconds.

In addition to the team relay, KhaVy qualified for the 50 freestyle, 100 breast stroke, 200 breast stroke and the 200 individual medley. During the meet, she achieved two personal best times.

KhaVy Sangasy is a senior at Brockport High School and plans to continue swimming in college this fall. KhaNy Sangasy is an eighth grader at A.D Oliver Middle School in Brockport. Elizabeth Kidder is a sophomore and Alayna Miller is a freshman at Hilton High School.

HAST, led by head coach Darwin Snow of Hilton, is a competitive swim team and a member of USA Swimming. HAST is currently taking registrations for their next session beginning on April 22. Anyone interested in learning more about HAST, can visit www.hiltonswimteam.com or email hastboard@gmail.com.
