Welch having banner baseball season
Jake Welch, of Spencerport, in his fourth year of professional baseball is having a banner year this season. Welch was traded in the beginning of the off season from the Windy City Thuderbolts out of Chicago to the Evansville Otters of Indiana. Evansville’s Bosse Field was the site for the 1992 movie A League of Their Own. Welch has posted a six and three record to date, through 14 games. Jake has posted a 3.31 ERA while notching 80 strikeouts through 87 innings. He is on pace for 100 strike outs this season. Welch is a 2011 graduate of Spencerport High School and Notre Dame College.
