The first doubles team of senior Julianna Saxena and junior Adrianna Agnello overcame a 2-6 loss in the first set to win the final two sets 6-3, 6-3 to provide the clinching victory in Churchville-Chili’s 5-2 win over host Hilton in girls tennis.

The Saints swept all four singles matches, including the first three in straight sets, as senior and first singles Lauren Vernick won 6-0, 6-1; classmate Isabelle Bennett took her second singles opponent 6-2, 6-2 and senior Ashley Northup was victorious at third singles 6-0, 6-2.

Junior Kaila Fagan won her first singles match as a varsity player with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 win at fourth singles.

The Saints were coming off a 6-1 win over Gates-Chili where the same top three singles competitors won, but Alexis Chanthachackvong swept her fourth singles match 6-2, 6-2 and the third doubles unit of Fagan with Julie Zampatori won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.

Hilton’s second doubles team of Megan Barnold and Abby Bleier defeated the Saints 6-4, 6-4 as did the third doubles squad of Vanessa Lomb and Ema Jamerson 6-0, 6-1.
