Juniors help Blue Devils bury Spartans
Junior starters Ryan Levick, Patrick Keisow and Nick Johnson and virtually the entire bench combined to lead Brockport to an easy 25-10, 25-11, 25-19 boys volleyball victory over visiting Gates-Chili.
The Blue Devils jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first game before Keisow, sophomore Liam Northrup, and senior Troy Leibert registered kills to make it 11-6, Levick then served nine consecutive service points with Johnson and Leibert adding a pair of kills each in the run.
Brockport earned points with six aces in the second game with juniors Kevin Larenz and Charlie McKee in the mix with one each, while Keisow finished the win with a monster kill from the outside left slot.
Only three starters began the third game as several other players contributed to secure the win as junior Zach Losee had an ace and classmate Owen Gardner a pair of kills along with two aces by Keisow.
Levick dished out 20 assists and registered six aces with half of those coming in the opening set. Johnson led Brockport with six kills and two blocks, Keisow had five kills with three digs, and Leibert finished with five aces and five kills.
