Rangers sweep Athena on Senior Day

Spencerport’s girls tennis team took all four singles matches in straight sets and all three doubles to defeat Greece Athena 7-0 for their third divisional win, and fourth overall, in their final regular season match of the season.

Fourth singles senior Kathleen Stewart didn’t lose a single game in her 6-0, 6-0 win, while first singles senior Hannah Nguyen was a 6-1, 6-0 winner.

Seniors Elizabeth Maloney and Hattie Kofron were also victorious at second and third singles, respectively, with the former 6-0, 6-2 and the later 6-2, 6-4.

The Rangers were equally dominant in the doubles matches as junior Olivia Maloney and senior Amanda Nahas were 6-1, 6-0 winners at first doubles as was the second doubles unit of senior Caitlin Costner and junior Delila MacLeod 6-0, 6-1.

The third doubles squad of junior Karalyn Giancursio and senior Alexi Wilson overcame a 3-6 loss in their first set before recovering with 6-1, 6-2 decisions to complete the sweep.
